Volunteer Opportunities at Christ the King
Other Areas of Need - A list of the more common areas of need is provided below. There are many other volunteer opportunities that arise from time-to-time, if you will have time and talents to share, even for only and hour or two, please contact the church office, check the "Weekly" or the Connection Card on the bottom of the Worship page for ideas.
Clipper Club – this is a group of volunteers who keep our grounds looking beautiful in the summer time. Mowing is done once a week (usually towards the end of the week so the grounds look nice for Saturday and Sunday), if you are interested in helping out, there is a sign-up on the kiosk during the summer months. If you have never mowed before but are curious, give Bob Miley a call.
Coffee Host/Hostess – this is a group of individuals who serve coffee and snacks in the gathering area during fellowship times which are held on Saturdays after the worship service and on Sundays between the worship services. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact the church secretary or Dorothy Bullert.
Communion Preparation - volunteers who are responsible for communion set-up/clean-up, etc. If you are interestd in helping with this ministry, please contact Val Elder, or Deb Roepke
CTK Women –if you are interested in helping your sisters in Christ with activities that connect women in Christian faith, fellowship or ministry, please contact a member of the Christ the King Women's board (Paula Leske).
Education - if you are interested in helping in any way with any of the education activities at Christ the King please contact the Parish Education Ministery Team chairperson or our Children’s Ministry Director. Areas of need include:
-Vacation Bible School assistants
-Special Project assistants (may only require a hour or two)
-Substitute Sunday School Teachers
-Christmas Program Leaders
-Special Event Volunteers (Graduation Brunch, etc.)
Family Life –if you would like to help facilitate any of our activities or would like to join the Family Life Committee, please contact the Family Life chairperson.
Funerals – if you are interested in helping in any way with a funeral, wheather it be for set-up, serving, clean-up, ushering or baking some bars, please contact the church office.
Greeters – we are in need of individuals and couples to greet worshipers and make them feel welcome at Christ the King. If this is something you would like to do, please contact the church office or Bev Wangerin.
Kitchen Cleaning – individuals and couples are encouraged to sign up for a month to do "light" kitchen cleaning, if you're interested.
Nursery Coordination – if you are interested in being the overseer of the nursery, ensuring that the nursery is kept neat and organized and is a welcome environment for our little one's and their familys, please contact the church office.
Office Assistants - Every week many volunteers are in the church office helping with a variety of tasks including folding bulletins, preparing The Weekly and answering phones. If you are interested in volunteering for a few hours during a day, please email Kim Laabraten or call the church office at 587-2776.
Organists - if you are interested in helping to provide organ music for some of our services, please contact our church office.
Scripture Readers – if you would like to volunteer to read the scriptures during one of our services, please contact Bonnie Westmiller.
Ushering – if you are interested in joining an usher team please contact Terri Robbins – Head Usher.
